My mom usually says that when you have the spirit of God in you, sometimes people can mistake you for a fool because you become meeker and your reactions are quite tamed from what the world will expect. She also adds that you become fire and ice at the same time. I always have the picture of Jesus as the lamb being dragged through the streets of Jerusalem to Golgotha. Then I also picture Him as the lion when He goes to war on our behalf. There were moments in Jesus’ life that he was not gentle with humans when they went against the agenda of God. One of such is John 2:15-17 (MSG)
“Jesus put together a whip out of strips of leather and chased them out of the Temple, stampeding the sheep and cattle, upending the tables of the loan sharks, spilling coins left and right. He told the dove merchants, “Get your things out of here!”
Having the spirit of gentleness in you gives you a great balance when it comes to people. You know when to act and when to stay still. You develop a high level of emotional intelligence and you have control of situations and not the other way around.
I pray for you this week that the Lord will breathe upon you that gentle spirit. I declare it is so and so it is in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
XOXO,
Lady Abena.
