The Secret Of Facing Life

I’d be lying if I told you that I’ve ever gone to bed hungry but I’d also be lying if I told you that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Let me correct it, it was my destiny to live like one who slept in gold dust but you know what spiritual ignorance does to you? Satan steals your birth right from you until you gain light from God, and then, you learn to step into your destiny and walk, live and thrive in it.

In my Four (4) decades on earth thus far, life has swung me in so many vigorous directions but God did not allow ANY of them, however ignorant I was, to be the end of me. By no merit, He just loves me too much to watch me break no matter how bent the storms made me.

It was one of those “taking an inventory of my life” moments that the Lord directed me to Apostle Paul’s message to the Philippians;

“I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] ” – Philippians 4:12-13 AMP.

The secret that my Jesus has taught me in facing life is to be content in any and every circumstance I find myself in. Not complacent, but content – have that extraordinary peace no matter what storms or chaos come my way. Stay grounded on the word and power of God, which I have been a recipient of. To not be moved, shaken or persuaded because I know who is my ‘Abba’ (The Aramaic term abba (אבא, Hebrew: אב (av), “father”) and anchor. I challenge you this week to give it a try and start your journey of finding confident peace with God. To have an experiential understanding when He said that “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” – Revelations 22:13 KJV.

Declarations for October 2022

Just like that, we are in the last quarter of 2022! Whew! How did we get here? I know how – the grace of God has carried us through and will carry us till the end. There’s one declaration the Lord has laid on my heart for you and I in this Tenth month of the year and it is that He will perfect everything which concerns us!

Psalms 138:8 AMP
The Lord will accomplish that which concerns me;
Your [unwavering] lovingkindness, O Lord, endures forever—
Do not abandon the works of Your own hands.

In this month of October, the Lord is accomplishing what He has promised in our lives and our testimonies will be evident front and center. He is the Alpha and Omega and so whatever He has started to develop and build in us, through us, and around us, He is bringing it to a perfect completion. I declare it is so and so it is in Jesus’ name! AMEN!

God Sees You

This weekend on the 'Woman To Woman' broadcast, we looked at the story of Hagar, the Egyptian slave girl who bore the first child to Abraham. You can click here https://youtu.be/g5UJxrFEtJM to re-watch it. There’s a lot to learn from her experiences but one that stood out for me was the fact that God met Hagar both times in the desert. I don’t think that even Hagar thought that God cared enough about her plight. First of all, she was an Egyptian who didn’t even believe in the God of Israel. Yet, the Lord showed himself to her in her worst moment, not only once but twice. (Read Genesis 16 and 21).

So, how much more you and I who have believed and daily call on the name of God. Sometimes, when life is throwing its storms your way, God can seem very far away or even appear to be unconcerned. Be rest assured through Hagar’s story that God sees you right where you are. He knows any and everything you are going through and He has something to say about the situation. Yes - God speaks and I pray that just as He spoke to Hagar and brought a resolution to her, may He speak in any and every situation in our lives this week.

I declare it is so and it is in Jesus’ name. AMEN!

Lady Abena.
