A Father’s Blessing

We know from Genesis 13:2 that Abraham was very wealthy in livestock, silver and in gold. In Genesis 25, we learn of Abraham’s death and how he had given gifts to his other son’s but left everything he owned to Isaac. Isaac did not just inherit things from his father Abraham but also his anointing and blessing. In Genesis 25:11, God will activate that blessing on Isaac’s life right after the death of Abraham.
The Blessing was so powerful that Isaac will sow in a time of famine and still reap a hundredfold in the same year, because the LORD blessed him. Isaac became so rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. Even the Philistines envied him. (Genesis 26:12-17, paraphrased).

Isaac in later chapters will also transfer the Blessing unto his son Jacob and we will see how Jacob became so prosperous, building an entire nation called Israel. It is important to note that the office of a Father is one that comes with a special blessing. I learned that during the Shabbat dinner on Fridays, the Jewish Fathers will pray and invoke blessings on their children. This is powerful and a practice that every Father, on this Father’s Day, should commit to. Speak life into your children, speak blessings into your children and even the blessings you do not have, pray for them to carry it.

I wish every Father out there a Happy Father’s Day and may your blessings be poured into the lives of your descendants. AMEN!

All Must Strengthen You

1 Corinthians 14:26 NLT

Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.

When you read the full chapter of this scripture, the Apostle Paul was elaborating on the use of spiritual gifts and why God gave them to us. Every gift we have received from God is to be used to edify His church and bless His kingdom. God gives different gifts to different people as He sees fits. Not everyone will be a prophet or a seer. Not everyone can sing or serve. There are many anointed people who lack administration skills and can barely manage an organization or ministry and that’s OK because it is not their gifting. What we need is a discerning heart with wisdom to bring together the men and women who are gifted in different areas to build the church or ministry.

Whatever your gift is, it is solely to strengthen God’s work and not to tear down what He is building through other men and women. I pray for you that as you go through your week, you will seek God’s direction on how you can use your gifts and talents to strengthen His work on earth and especially His body. May the men and women who need your gift also find you so you can become a blessing to your generation. Let it be so and so it is in Jesus’ name. Amen!

XOXO,

Lady Abena.

Declarations For June 2023

Here’s what the Lord says for this month;

Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness,
Make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be raised and every mountain and hill be made low;
And let the rough ground become a plain,
And the rugged places are a broad valley.
And the glory and majesty and splendor of the Lord will be revealed,
And all humanity shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken it and it will be accomplished.
(Isaiah 40:2-5 AMP, Paraphrased)

I decree and declare that it is so and it is in Jesus’ name. AMEN!
