It’s OK Not To Be OK

There is a subtle myth that you constantly have to be strong. Somewhere along the way, we bought into the idea that weakness is failure, and that struggle means we’re doing something wrong. Especially among us believers - the unspoken pressure to “hold it all together.” We quote Scriptures, put on brave faces, and keep our pain hidden. But here’s the truth—God never asked us to be perfect; He wants us to be real.

This month of April has challenged me in so many ways I couldn’t have made it without God’s help and my support system. I had so many questions for God. I'll wake people up sometimes at 2:00am wherever they are located and they will lovingly answer their phones from another continent and stay with me till I’m done letting out my emotions and fall asleep. The beautiful part is they will pray over me quietly as well. I remember telling a friend, “please save the scriptures for someone else because I’ve read them all. I just need God to have a seat right here so we can have a chat.”

God is not shocked by my struggles or emotions. He isn’t disappointed by my tears or questions. He wasn’t disappointed when I told Him, “God you have let me down.” He wasn't waiting for me to fix anything because He knew I couldn’t. He gives me permission to be human while He does the work of healing and restoration. He knows He has given me the grace of faith and I never doubt His ability. I just ask why He allows certain things to happen but His grace meets me wherever I am. In the valleys or up on the mountains, grace still speaks for me.

So, my dear friend, breathe and cry if you need to. Wake up people from across the globe if you have to talk to someone, cry or need a prayer to strengthen you. Most importantly, lean into Jesus, knowing very well that even in your lowest moment, He is holding you and ALL of you. Nothing missing, nothing broken.

Happy Easter 2025

The miracle of Easter for me is this, that a man who was condemned to die in sin was saved on the cross before His taking his last breadth and confirmed by Jesus’ to spend eternity with Him in paradise.

Luke 23:43 ESV
And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

That saving grace, which was activated even before Christ died on the cross is still available for you and I today. No matter how grave our sins are, if we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, we will also spend eternity with Him in paradise.

I pray for you that if you do not know Christ, this miracle on the cross will be yours as well. Let it be so and so it is in Jesus’ name. AMEN!

He Was Sound Asleep

In Matthew 8:23-27, there’s a story about Jesus and his disciples who were traveling in a boat across the Sea of Galilee when a severe storm suddenly arose and the waves were crashing over the boat. While the disciples were terrified of drowning, yelling and screaming to God for help, the son of God who is one with the Father was on the boat with them and very sound asleep. They finally woke Him up and He commanded the storm to cease and it did immediately.

I’ve been intrigued about this story for many reasons but I’ll share a couple of thoughts with you. The disciples knew the power that Jesus carried, they knew He was there with them on the boat so why were they afraid? Sounds just like you and I doesn't it? We know the Lord is with us, we know we believe in Him and He said He will never leave us nor forsake us so why are we always afraid and in panic when storms come our way?

Notice Jesus’ reaction - He was very sound asleep in the midst of a deadly situation knowing very well that no occurrence on this earth has ANY power over Him. I think He still looks at us the same way He scolded the disciples on that faithful day - “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Fear is natural, but faith is supernatural. The awareness of Jesus Christ in our lives should cause our faith to always overrule our fear.

My prayer for you this week is that the same power that raised Christ from the dead will quicken us into faith, believing that Jesus is with us through it all and He will never give us more than we can bear what life throws at you. You’re an overcomer and it is settled in Jesus’ name. AMEN!
