Our world is teeming with charismatic leaders and influential figures and it is all too easy to fall into the trap of idolizing mere mortals rather than venerating the Almighty God Himself. The bible reminds us in Psalm 146:3, “Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.” This verse serves as a clarion call to redirect our reverence from fallible humans to the omnipotent Creator. When we elevate individuals to a pedestal, we risk the disillusionment that inevitably follows, for they are but vessels, flawed and transient. Instead, we are beckoned to place our faith in God, the eternal source of wisdom and strength, who remains steadfast amidst the vicissitudes of life.

Moreover, the Apostle Paul admonishes us in 1 Corinthians 3:5-7, where he poses the rhetorical question, “What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each.” This passage elucidates the notion that while leaders may guide us, they are ultimately instruments of God’s will, not objects of our adoration. By recognizing the divine orchestration behind their efforts, we cultivate a deeper appreciation for the Almighty God, who alone deserves our unwavering devotion. Let us, therefore, strive to honor God above all, ensuring that our hearts remain anchored in His eternal truth rather than the fleeting accolades of humanity.

Always remember, He is a jealous God and does not share His glory with any man. I pray that you’ll seek after the God who is empowering men to do wonders. Honor men but worship and serve the Almighty God only.

Lady Abena.
