In Genesis 37 we encounter the story of Joseph, a.k.a, The Dreamer. God had a special way with Joseph, He gave him the gift of revelation and also interpretation of dreams. Joseph’s dreams were deep, profound and unfathomable. I always picture his heart, he was so eager to share his dreams, out of joy and excitement but he was not well received. His own father was not even happy about the kind of dreams Joseph was having. He rebuked him and his siblings became envious of him, planning evil towards him.
Joseph will later be sold into slavery because of these dreams which made his siblings hate him. The interesting twist to this is that God’s favor and hand was upon Joseph, very marvelously. By Genesis 39, 40, 41, we see how his life unfolds and eventually those dreams became reality. His family had to live out the dreams for which they hated Joseph.
My reflection today is, what dream has God given you that seems to scare even the people around you? I strongly believe that according to the pattern of Joseph, whatever God has shown you will come to pass. You do realize that no one can take away your dreams because it is unique to you? That’s the beauty of God’s wisdom. It did not matter what happened to Joseph, that dream was his alone and it was fulfilled in God’s own appointed time. So will your dreams and my dreams be fulfilled as well.
I pray for you this week, that the dreams in your heart will be fulfilled in due time. May you receive the grace and empowerment to tarry through it and see it to completion. Let this be so and so it is in Jesus’ name. AMEN!
