In the book of John chapter Five (5), there’s a story of a healing that happened around the pool of Bethesda. The bible states that this paralyzed man had been in this condition for Thirty-Eight (38) years. When Jesus asked this man if he would like to be healed, his answer was:
“The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.” (John 5:7 KJV).
That statement he made to Jesus is what revs up my spirit every time I come across this scripture. Obviously, so many people come to the pool and especially on the days when the angel comes to stir the waters, many others come to be healed. So, for thirty-eight years, this man had not received favor or kindness from any one that was willing to help him into the pool? Let this not sound like just another bible story because it is the reality of some people today. They are stuck in unfavorable circumstances because no one has stepped up to offer help. What can we do then? Start sowing seeds of goodness and kindness in peoples’ lives. Build a community for yourself if you think you are alone. A good litmus test for you to start with is that if you had an emergency this very moment, how many people can you call and you are so sure they will drop everything to come to your aid no matter the cost?
I pray for you this week, that the Lord will send you the gift of genuine people. People who will bear you up in your trying times. I declare it is so and so it is in Jesus’ name. AMEN!
